One of the projects that we got for our motion graphics class was to create a movie intro credits sequence using Adobe After Effects. At the time, we were learning about composition and what makes a good scene. We did a type exercise to help us with composition and typography, it was to get our minds thinking about what makes a good unit. We were given 2 weeks to create our project and I decided on making a title sequence for the movie Fight Club.
I went with a monochromatic style and decided to play on the three main characters/actors of the movie for each set of scenes. This project was about 4-6 weeks into the first term of our 2nd year of the course, so all of this was still fairly new. I had my own fair challenges of figuring out how to create interesting transitions and how to build on a scene. I spent a lot of time creating the individual graphics for the project and spent quite a bit of hours animating. But all the hard work paid off as I get an almost perfect grade for this project (0.5 off, so close!). I had a great time learning new techniques and getting familiar with After Effects because of this project.
